- UNiGY’s® smart drive monitors the pump/motor loading from data collected over 8,000 times per pump motor/shaft revolution. The computer evaluates this data stream and uses a set of proprietary algorithms to regulate the drive amperage and voltage, seamlessly and automatically controlling motor speed and torque – and therefore pump flow and pressure.
- The drive reacts with digital precision to any number of ramp acceleration, constant speed, ramp deceleration and position commands.
- Sequencing different commands at any instant throughout the process cycle is simply programmed by applying pre-set points, analogue or digital inputs to the UNiGY® controller.
- The digital drive is so well controlled that hydraulic pressure ripple is insignificant and, even with step changes in demand pressure, spikes are virtually eliminated.
- The drive current and voltage signature analysis performed by UNiGY’s® computer helps identify problems in downstream systems and initiate appropriate commands.

The computerized controller and integral drive hold the hydraulic system pressure without creating unnecessary and excess flows. What’s more, UNiGY® does this over the full flow range from zero to maximum system flow. After retrofitting, UNiGY® energy savings of up to 90% have been achieved on some applications.
- UNiGY® absorbs the inertia from your system during rapid deceleration and either dissipates it through braking resistors or returns it back into your ring main for use elsewhere.
- With no excess flow or pressure there is no need for bypass valves/circuits. Oil coolers are not required.
